Last night I accidentally got drunk by myself. A couple beers to undwind quickly turned into the sad sight of me stumbling around my apartment. I guess I forget how light I can be sometimes. Oh well. At least my fake ID works.

Also last night, I had alot of strange dreams and my friends made appearances in all of them. Among the cameos: Kaitlyn, Aaron Richter, Matt Sutorius, Leslie, and maybe others I can't remember.

I think that lazy sundays in my favorite chair might be the best thing ever.

Somehow, I totally forgot that Sunday existed, so here is what happened then:

We went and saw the gates, which at first were unimpressive, and then impressive, and then it was decided that they were infact unimpressive. Walked from the upper east side all the way down to the east village. Ate some good soup for lunch. Bought a shirt and two belts at H+M which is an amazing store. One of the belts is white. I think white belts have jumped the shark, but I dont care. I wanted one. We couldnt decide between mexican and pizza, so we ate mexican and then ate pizza. Went back to Bianca's. Mike and Heather came over. We talked, watched the snow, watched adult swim. I went to buy cigarettes and beer, and didnt even get carded! I'm beginning to think this ID was a waste of money. Obviously I look old enough already.

Tim: I was just in new york for the weekend, having fun and visiting friends. I also want to move there RIGHT NOW.

Went out Saturday to a party at this loft in Williamsburg, it was much more fun than Friday's party. There was a band, and the singer looked like a tiny hipster version of Christina Ricci. It was adorable. Outside there were a bunch of records dumped on the curb, I took two. I have no idea what they are or who recorded them, but thats the point. Ate two slices of pizza. Then rode a bike for a while. We tried to go to Barcade, but it was closing. I'm sure it was for the better. That night I dreamt about a team of 3 middle aged women with an intense lust for gossip. They took to impersonating policemen, and went around intimidating the people in their town in order to find out secrets from them. I'd like to write a short story about this.

Today I went to Chipotle, then to Christian Dior where I bought a $70 candle. This purchase might trump the infamous $35 hair gel purchase made last spring, but fuck it I wanted something from there. It was the only thing I could afford.

I dont know what I think of New York anymore. For so long, I thought it was this huge place where anything and everything can happen. I guess it is still. It seems much larger to me now, almost intimidatingly so. I spent so much of my trip in Midtown when I was 14. Now that I've seen so much more of it, it is so overwhelming that breathing becomes dificult. I think that the worst part was that it was all so unfamiliar. There was no sign of home here. Everything is distinctly different from Dallas, and Missouri, and Bay City. I found it amazing that in a city with so many people, I was able to feel so alone.

New York is nothing short of amazing so far. Brooklyn is a really great place, it always feels friendly. Last night we ate at Sea, which is where they filmed the restaraunt scene in Garden State. Then we went to a gallery opening, just in time for the open bar to run out. So we went and got alcohol and then just brought it to the gallery. One of the guys from Tv on the Radio was there (the guy with the huge hair/beard). Afterwards we hung out this girl Naomi's house, and discussed all sorts of things. Then there was a house part in this old storefront thing but since I'd been up since 5am I was pretty out of it and pretty much sat in the same chair the whole time. Also, Tunde from Tv on the Radio was at the party.

Today I got lunch with Alyssa and then walked around the Union Square area for a while. Bought some books at The Strand, which is a book store that covers 8 square miles. Then Alyssa and I met with Bianca and Naomi and trapsed all over the the east village, noho, soho, chinatown, tribeca, and others. It was fun, but I got really tired from walking pretty much all day. The Prada store is the most amazing thing I've ever seen, by the way.

Going out again tonight, though I'm already tired and I doubt I'll last long.

Only 1.5 hours of sleep last night.

I was on the road at 6:30. The early morning sky was an orgy of green and blue, and the bare Michigan ash trees reached up with their nimble fingers in a vain attempt at pulling the clouds down. Those trees have yet to understand that touching the sky first requires that you leave the ground. A burning red sun rose over Flint, Michigan. I read somewhere that red sunrises are caused by polution in the air. I imagine a state of industry such as Michigan sees many red sunrises.

Late to the airport because of traffic and confusion, and I missed my flight. No worries, hopped on another that leaves only two hours from now. Manhattan lies in waiting.

Holy shit, Tech just beat Kansas in double fucking overtime. I love college basketball so much. When march rolls around, dont be surpised if you find me in a coma due to upsets that may or may not occur in the sweet sixteen and elite eight.

In other news, "Man Of The House" looks like an awful awful movie, but I want to see it because it's soooo texas. When Tommy Lee Jones says "this is my happy fayce!" I feel like I'm back home every time.

Oh, and I totally forgot about Valentine's Day this year. My bad.

If Wendy doesnt get eliminated on Project Runway tonight I'm going to fucking shit bricks all over the place.

Money is hard! Seems like I'm always working and always making money (weekly checks) and then the bills come in the mail and its gone all of a sudden.

I'm going to New York in two weeks, and I'm way excited about it but I'm nervous all of a sudden about making the finances work. Hopefully my mileage reimbursement will take care of those worries.

New York! Weeee!

Well now.

The dominant question seems to be "ok, so now what?" You've packed up your stuff, and started a job on the opposite side of the country from where you used to reside. Good fucking job. What happens in May? Back to Texas? Think about THAT for a minute. Obviously not the most exciting option. New York? All the internships there are unpaid. Florida? Well, we'll see. What happens when your photo editor realizes that every "good" photo you make is essentially the same thing with different people in it? It's best not to think about that.

And what about all those people back in the show me state? What are you going to do about them? All the friends you took for granted. The friends with wonderful taste in music, who laughed at most of your jokes (at least the ones that were funny), and who always bought you drinks. You think this series of emails is going to last?

Let's not even get started on that girl. The one who pushed you away, and then tried to pull you back right when you were leaving. Why do you even feel guilty? It was her fault in the first place. What do you think you are doing spending all that time talking on the phone to her? Perpetuating some crazy romantic fantassy that you'll find each other again and that everything will be wonderful? Fat chance. Better quit now if you know what's good for you.

Which brings us to point A. What are you going to do now?

...Well?
