Cut Time Mix #1 For Capital

Recently I teamed up with the website Capital to create a new mix series called Cut Time.  The first mix was released this morning, and features pop songs that are both old and new, as well as a couple Christmas songs to make it seasonally appropriate.  You can listen to the mix and read my thoughts on the tracklist by clicking here.

Chris Recommends:
Sacred Harp – Apparitions At The Kenmore Plantation

I was alerted to this one by the good folks over at Altered Zones, and I’ve been playing it at least once a day since.  It’s a really great combination of open-tuning bluegrass guitar works and Indian raga-style drones.  Perfect stuff for quiet winter evenings.  Best of all, the whole album is FREE, and you can download it here.  The sublime opening track is below, but you owe it to yourself to give the whole thing a listen.
