Just like the regular Guardian (British spellings and all), but slightly more focused on US news without giving up any of the global coverage the Guardian is known for. Not bad at all. Guardian America Labels: Reading, The Internet 10.15.2007
Kanye likes to go on the "recommendations" tip a bit, just posting up shit he thinks is cool. Sometimes he doesn't write sentences, he's just like "Here, look at this picture of this dope cellphone holder I found." I'm sure he emails shit to some assistant who posts it for him, but that doesn't change the fact that I want him to be my big brother. I have this thing for watching conspiracy theory documentaries online lately. I don't believe much of the information they present, but I stumbled across this gem last night and it's kind of amazing. Who knew Dan Aykroyd was so up on his alien game? Dude goes for a straight hour and a half just spouting knowledge. When I watched it I suddenly got really scared I was gonna be abducted by aliens. Dan Ayrkoyd Unplugged on UFOs (Google Video) Labels: The Internet The words "Justice and T-Pain Mash Up" are enough to make a good DJ cringe. I put this together on a whim one afternoon because I thought it would sound funny. I was really surprised when it turned out sounding much better than funny. Anyways, download link below. Enjoy. GQ has been one of my favorites for years, and this is their 50th anniversary issue. This probably doesn't matter to people who don't already like GQ. However, for people uninterested in men's fashion (suits, not hoodies) or cool anecdotes about the magazine's history, there's also a photo spread with Mark Ronson near the back. At first you'll say "Man, this girl that he's posing with is hot, I wonder who she is." Then it's revealed to you that she's a french actress, who is also Thomas Bangalter's WIFE. At this point you'll realize you should be jealous of both Thomas and Mark, but you're not because you can't get your brain to stop exploding. Labels: Reading 10.02.2007
Up to the minute blog posts about politics and Buffalo pro sports from my friend Will Caps. Always a good read. The Stencil Labels: Blogs, The Internet Or rather, being mentally equipped for the email onslaught that will come from this process. So we need a roommate, and after a couple weeks of dragging our feet, passing the buck and doing nothing about it, we've finally put an ad on Craigslist to figure out who our new friend will be. I had an idea of how this works, since I've done it twice to find housing myself. However, this is my first experience helming the whole operation, and man is it crazy. We're not 24 hours into the whole thing and so far we've got 97 emails. I like to think that this is partly because it was an excellently penned ad on my part. Basically, at this point I'm just repeating the mantra "Do not pick a cute girl. Do not pick a cute girl." Labels: misc., New York, The Internet 10.01.2007
B.O.B. is a dude from Atlanta who first popped up on "Haters" by Wes Fif, a song that had the most bananas tranced out beat ever (way better than My Love). Since then he's made a name for himself by flipping songs into beats that come from way out in left field (see: Use Your Love, All Night Every Day, etc.). He dropped a mixtape recently and it's all pretty much amazing. Find it where you normally cop your mixtapes (whether that's a torrent or the local spot on the corner in Decatur). Below you'll find a song that I'm told is produced by T-Pain (!) but it flips an old doo-wop joint and it's just a hell of a lot of fun. B.O.B. - 16 Labels: Music |
